3D-Printed Bears Lead Heart-Warming Stop Motion Short

"Bears On Stairs" by DBLG is an awesome experiment fusing two crafts we love.

Today, Creative Agency

DBLG

, melted our 3D-printed hearts with a one minute short that explores stop frame animation using 3D printing tech. "Bears On Stairs," above, is a collaboration with animation studio

Blue Zoo

that used 50 three dimensional little bears as the fodder for the clip of the plastic cutie(s) climbing up a StairMaster-like set of steps. Each bear was used for its own individual frame of the animation.

Similar to the making of the music video for Cut Copy's "We Are Explorers," the integration of 3D-printing and stop motion is an awesome fusion of two crafts, a mixture that we hope other animators experiment with in the near future. See some stills from "Bears On Stairs" below.
