5 Experimental Structures from the World Building of the Year Shortlist

Glowing pink trees and gravity-defying hallways are among the World Architecture Festival's selects for the 2015 experimental building of the year, including top experimental structures —which occasionally aren't even buildings. "Experimental" is just one of 31 categories, spanning 338 constructed or future buildings in 46 different countries. Entries from architecture firms like SPARK, American University of Sharjah, and Arup, will be judged by the likes of CRAB Studio Director Peter Cook, ArchDaily Editor-in-Chief David Basulto, TCL Founding Director Kate Cullity, and more. One winner will be selected from each category, with an overall Building of the Year to be chosen during the festival in Singapore.
