Michael König's 'SUN' might be the hottest video you'll watch today.

Ultraviolet visuals stun and awe in photographer Michael König’s new solar timelapse, SUN. In four hypnotizing minutes, the film pieces together 21 scenes from NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center’s 4K footage that were captured over the past four years by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly. Edited in time with Fernando Corona’s sinister track, “Utopia,” the sun’s photosphere oozes from yellow, to red, to bright white, solar flares arch, and carefully timed solar eclipses glide in and out of view. In these fiery moments, Earth’s favorite star gets the portrait we only wish we could stare at directly.
