Squarepusher left the crowd at Fort Mason in a euphoric daze after his performance at The Creators Project: San Francisco last weekend. After such an intense audio-visual experience, it’s admittedly hard to remember the details of the show. Who wouldn’t be completely entranced by the millions of LEDs that made up his back drop, left only with dreamlike memories of the whole thing?

Today, you can hear a song from Ufabulum and give it a focused, discerning listen from the comfort of your chair while checking out photos of his performance from our event in Fort Mason. If you had the pleasure of seeing him play or saw any of the countless videos of his show floating around online, you might have a momentary flashback of the experience.

“Dark Steering” an unreleased track recently broadcast on a UK radio station, packs the promise of aggressiveness and melody that Squarepusher promised the listening world upon announcement of the album. The song is built around one of his signature sentimental synth lines (think “Journey to Reedham”).

Likely reflective of the entire album, this track is a culmination of several Squarepusher styles through the ages, and it’s a damn good one. By the way, we may finally have cracked the pronounciation of Ufabulum. According to the radio DJ, it’s [oo-FAB-yoo-lum].
