Kinesthesia
FIELD / Forays: Scan I-IV / Fragments from Sedition. We've been friends with design duo Field, aka Marcus Wendt and Vera-Maria Glahn, for some time--following them from music videos to digital storytelling experiments, and then some. Recently the team decided to link up with limited edition digital art provider Sedition for Forays-- a series of 8 digital artworks that represent "landscapes, architecture, and objects of the future as seen by the artist." Meant to predict how subsequent generations will view technology and the environment, Forays is split into two parts: one series static, the other a grouping of short films that were also part of a larger project exhibited at the Parsons Gallery Paris in 2013. Above, Sedition was kind enough to put together a montage of these shorts, a hypnotizing pastiche of undulating forms and shapes.Below, check out FIELD Forays Scan, a collection of one dimensional works that make us excited for the prospect of future life on Earth:FIELD Forays Scan IIV KinesthesiaForays: Scan IIV, a series of close-up CGI animations, was created to evoke a "sensual vision". With the lifelike and tactile quality of the images on display, the viewer is in some ways tricked onto believing they could possibly exist--maybe even sometime soon. As Sedition notes, "they suggest a sensory nature and functionality for the objects that we are yet unable to ascribe."VestibularFIELD Forays Scan I VestibularSomasexualFIELD Forays Scan IIV SomasexualThermoceptionOriginal soundtracks designed by Jochen Mader, Audionerve. For more on Field, check out our short doc below:The full collection can be seen on Sedition.com.
