Alexandre Herchcovitch's S/S 2013 Collection Pays Homage To Boy George

Boxy silhouettes, checkerboards, hearts, and smiley faces brighten up the runway.

Mark Ronson isn’t the only one who’s been tapping Boy George for creative inspiration lately. Brazilian fashion designer Alexandre Herchcovitch took the singer as inspiration for his S/S 2013 collection shown Saturday night at Milk Studios.

In start contrast to last year’s uber ladylike spring collection, spring 2013 is all about borrowing from the “boys.” Cuts were boxy, and highlights included shiny plaids, tuxedo cut jumpsuits, and checkerboard everything emblazoned with hearts. Matching oversized, checkerboard hats, and clutches embellished with keys and smiley faces rounded out the playfulness of the line.
