You don’t have to be a comic book fan to appreciate these Batman GIFs from animator ABVH, who previously animated Banksy’s iconic street art. Utilizing his skill with the GIF format, he’s crafted these striking animated images based on the original illustrations of Greg Capullo and Patrick Gleason for the comic book series Death of the Family.The results are at the creepier end of the Batman canon—not quite the camp megalulz of the 60s series, but that’s probably because the plotline of the story they’re sampling from involved the Joker laying waste to Batman’s friends and allies. Whatever your opinion of this iconic comic, you’ve got to love a GIF of the Joker dangling his skinned face before your eyes.
