This One's for BEARS! | GIF Six-Pack

It's the 90th anniversary of 'Winnie the Pooh' and we're fresh out of bothers. Here are some bears.

90 years ago today, A.A. Milne first published the classic storybook, Winnie the Pooh. Milne's characters are like reverse role models who taught both me and my dad how not to behave. Pooh's gluttony is disgusting, Piglet's timidity is cringe-worthy, Owl's pride is embarrassing, Rabbit's uptightness is grating, and Eeyore's sadness is, well, a total buzzkill.

Readers have linked Christopher Robin's friends in the Hundred Acre Wood to the seven deadly sins, psychological diagnoses, and drugs. While none of that speculatuion is supported by any statements from Milne or his estate, these connections to systems of thought and categorization are symptomatic of Milne's eye for archetypal behaviors that we recognize in our own friends and family. In honor of Winnie the Pooh's debut nine decades ago, here's a GIF Six-Pack of ferocious, adorable, and visually interesting bears who won't eat all your honey and pass out on your couch.
