Shot in the restricted runway area of Singapore Changi Airport.

Ever wondered what it's like in one of the busiest airports in the world? With a flight landing and taking off almost every minute during peak hours, it can get pretty insane. 

Shoot a timelapse of that, and you get transported to a sci-fi world with shooting stars breaking into the atmosphere.

This was shot mostly in the restricted runway area of Singapore's Changi Airport and the surrounding public areas for some scenes. I was so close to the planes that my cameras literally got shaken by the rumbles from the jet engines - Which actually produced a pretty neat effect. (See 2:13)

The guys from Changi Airport reached out to me to shoot in the restricted runway area of Changi Airport after they saw my first film from The Air Traffic series which was shot at Changi Beach. It was a thrilling experience as you don't usually get to enter the restricted runway area, let alone shoot in it.

Even after doing this the second time, I'm still amazed at the results of timelapsing airplanes flying at night.

It's only been a week and this video has kinda gone viral with over 6k shares and 10k likes on the facebook version. The YouTube/Vimeo versions has over 300k views! Airplanes Look Like Epic Shooting Stars in The Air Traffic 2!

Photographer [Milton Tan](http://miltontan.com/photography/) has released a captivating sequel to _[The Air Traffic](https://vimeo.com/55347966),_ his aeronautical timelapse experiments that were featured on the Discovery channel last year. _[The Air Traffic 2](https://vimeo.com/102908493)_ embraces the same airborne light art aesthetic that made _The Air Traffic_ so popular, except this time Tan shot "so close to the planes that \[his\] cameras literally got shaken by the rumbles from the jet engines," explains [his Vimeo description](http://vimeo.com/102908493).

Tan explained in an email that he shot the footage in the restricted runway area of Singapore's Changi airport, yielding images of planes that look like giant shooting stars. For people used to getting stuck in plane traffic, Tan's short is a refreshing (or even _uplifting_) take on the beauty hidden within airports.
