Beautiful Portraits Of Famous Architects, Comprised Using Their Signature Styles

You've never seen your favorite architects like this.

One of the greatest pleasures of looking and thinking about art is being able to recognize the soul of artists in their work, the things that make them unique. Italian graphic designer Frederico Babina beautifully illustrates this joy in the world of architecture with his Archiportraits, a series of portraits depicting architects composed from their buildings' most crucial design elements.

The portraits wind up looking like the floorplan to a mad scientist's house, but once you see how the ingeniously designed faces come together, the portrait makes sense. It's striking how each minimalist Archiportrait is clearly Babina's style, yet also representative of the architect he's emulating.

Bambina's sleek, architecture-based designs have wowed the Internet on several occasions. He is responsible for such creations as Archiset, the architectural renditions of famous movie sets, and Archibet, the alphabet imagined as a series of buildings.

Babina interpreted the work of 33 different architects, including Frank Lloyd Wright, Rem Koolhaas, Zaha Hadid, Norman Foster, and Arne Jacobsen. We wouldn't want to live in any of the houses he's drawn this time, but we sure do love looking at them.
