Last month we showed you LUNA, a Kickstarter project for a lamp that looks like a miniature moon. Our friend, Chinese artist Huang Yulong, saw LUNA and found it to be similar to a sculpture he's been working on since 2014, called Yue Liang. It, too, is a series of lamps that range from handheld to human size, and look just like the surface of Earth's celestial buddy. Inspired by an image in a French childrens' book, Yulong was moved enough to built a massive replica of the moon in his studio.

"This picture really caught me, I was deeply moved," Yulong tells The Creators Project. "When I finished it, I shared the pictures on WeChat, and all of my friends were deeply moved… I think people almost need this kind of warm artwork." He exhibited the lamp at a solo show in Hong Kong earlier this year, then brought it to Beijing Design Week for an exhibit called Moon Walk, which happened to coincide with the Chinese Moon Festival. "I thought this moon lamp could let the whole show room be more quiet," he continues. "I like this feeling."Check out Moon Walk in the images below.
