Creators Remix Roundup: Chromeo, Brodinski, And Mark Ronson

Punks Jump Up featuring Chromeo’s Dave 1, Brodinski cuts up Scissor Sisters, and Mark Ronson delivers the Olympic treatment.

Our Creators are a talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always overflowing with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn't keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week.

Punks Jump Up: “Mr. Overtime” feat. (Dave 1)

You’d never know that this song is actually by Punks Jump Up because Dave 1‘s voice is so remarkably distinctive and this song does such a good job of embracing the swankiness that Chromeo is known for. ChezEddy’s animation is a trip—it could almost be an electro futuristic take on Death Proof… with Totoro. Such an overall pretty package. Now the only question is, who’s Mr. Overtime?

Scissor Sisters: “Only The Horses” (Brodinski remix)

“Only The Horses” is off Scissor Sisters’ latest album Magic Hour, which must allude to the time this track would drop at a club. Brodinski introduces some intricate convulsion, creating an effect that’s energizing without being spastic. This one’s a super sexy/sweaty jam.

Mark Ronson feat. Katy B: “Move To The Beat”

OK, so normally we don’t like to feature blatant advertisements, but since it’s Mark Ronson and the Olympics are coming up, we decided to make an exception. What’s interesting here is that Ronson seems to almost choreograph the athletes like he would direct a band. The visual vibe is very “Bang Bang”-esque, which is definitely a good thing. If only every Olympic event had such a massively produced soundtrack—now that would be epic. Speaking of the Olympics, we hear Mira Calix is planning something pretty special… stay tuned!
