Hot Chip: “Look At Where We Are” (Major Lazer remix)

Earlier this week, we showed you Hot Chip’s new video for “Look At Where We Are,” a freaky love story directed by Danny Perez, and a definite slow down for anyone who knows them from their hit “Over and Over.” Major Lazer visited this new sultry ballad and gave it a crunk makeover, complete with the ultrahype build-ups and blaring synths, changing “Where We Are” from the bedroom to the dance floor. As if that wasn’t enough, Major Lazer also just dropped this dubbed out remix of the same song. Now we’re on the beach.

Four Tet’s Hip-Hop Mix for Diplo & Friends

Four Tet – Diplo & Friends – 15-07-2012 by Mixing.Dj Livesets on Mixcloud

"Relax, sit in your recliner, it's a sexy set." That’s how Diplo introduced this DJ set that Four Tet kicked on BBC Radio 1’s Diplo & Friends. But this isn’t your average hip-hop set. Packed with some of the style’s slower jams, and plenty of ethereal melodies. Is that a Dabrye song I hear? The term “hip-hop” is a used broadly here, and it allows Four Tet to include a little bit of everything. Sexy is most definitely the word.

Snoop Lion: “La La La” (produced by Diplo)

Yup, every single piece of music featured today has something to do with Diplo. The guy is so darn prolific and collaborative that it just kind of happened. This last track is something the world is eagerly anticipating: Snoop’s reggae collaboration with Diplo. Now, if you were expecting some kind of laser-sound laden, delay-heavy, autotuned jam from this pair, this track will come as a bit of a surprise. This is some pretty rootsy stuff. Rather than quelling out excitement, this track has just made us all the more eager to hear this album.
