Creators Remix Roundup Week 46

Arcade Fire, Spank Rock and Nick Zinner.

Our Creators are a talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always overflowing with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn't keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week.

Arcade Fire: “The Suburbs” (Mr. Little Jeans rework)

British singer Mr. Little Jeans takes Arcade Fire‘s “The Suburbs” and renders it completely unrecognizable, even arguable better than the original. Gone is the guitar, Win Butler’s familiar crooning and the la-de-da air of the original. Mr. Little Jeans gives us a slightly wompy bass, plucked synths and her inescapably seductive vocals.

Karlsson & Winnberg featuring Spank Rock: “The Dance”

Spank Rock has been getting a lot of love lately, thanks to the release of his much-anticipated sophomore album this past week. This time, Naeem Juwan appears with Karlsson & Winnberg the Swedish producing duo behind Miike Snow. The upbeat punky-electro production mixed with Spank Rock’s catchy half-speak, half-wail definitely gives you enough room to move your body in any way you want, which at the end of the night, is the point.

Ghostigital: “Don’t Push Me” feat. Sensational and Nick Zinner

Curver and Einar Örn, the duo behind Icelandic experimental group Ghostigital describe their collaboration as “the Cubists, or the Dadaists in musical form.” They’re also inspired by sliced bread. If that isn’t already amazing enough, they’ve teamed up with the mythical experimental rapper Sensational and infused their new track with the guitar strummings of Nick Zinner. We find it dark, rage-y and energetic. Now, to the weekend.
