Creators Remix Roundup Week 48: The Horrors, Kid Sister and Diplo

The Horrors take on Beyonce, Kid Sister’s new booty shaker and Diplo remixes Yelawolf.

Our Creators are a talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always overflowing with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn't keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week.

The Horrors: “Best Thing I Never Had” (Beyoncé cover)

This week in unexpected pop reinterpretations: Joshua Third‘s moody rock band takes on this single from Beyoncé’s album 4. In a live session for BBC Radio, The Horrors manage to turn the star’s singsongy lament into a speedier toe-tapper, injecting Beyoncé’s track with some fuzzy attitude. What goes around comes back around, indeed.

Yelawolf: “Just Right” (prod. Diplo)

Looks like Yelawolf fans are going to have to wait a little bit longer for the rapper’s debut album—he’s just pushed the release date back about a month, in order to “add some important finishing touches” to the record. That’s okay with us, as long as the rest of his full-length is filled with catchy hooks like this one that superproducer Diplo furnished. Radioactive is now slated for a November 21 release.

Flosstradamus and Kid Sister: “Luuk Out Girl” (prod. Fool’s Gold Records)

Look out, listener: Fool’s Gold Records has done it again. “Luuk Out Girl” pairs two of the label’s flyest acts, Flosstradamus and Kid Sister, in a fast-paced wind-up track that whets our appetite for both projects’ upcoming EPs: Floss’s Jubilation EP and Kid Sister’s as-yet-untitled work with RiffRaff.
