Creators Remix Roundup: Yuksek, Nick Zinner, And Diplo

Aeroplane remixes Yuksek, Jesse Harris featuring Nick Zinner, and party boy jams with Diplo.

Our Creators are a talented and prolific bunch, and our inbox is always overflowing with alerts of new remixes and mashups from the incredible DJs and producers in our line-up. We just couldn't keep these fresh new tunes to ourselves because, after all, filesharing is caring. Here are our top picks from the past week. For past Creators Remix Roundups, click here.

Yuksek: “The Edge” (Aeroplane remix)

They're just such a perfect pairing: French electro producer Yuksek, and Belgian disco revivalist Aeroplane. How is this the first time that these two big name Europeans have come together? This remix has us entranced with its 90s vibe, from the intro's rising vocals, retro synth stabs, and bouncy bassline, all the way past the ultimate drop at 4:32, where every dance-inducing element of the track comes back for its epic final stretch.

Jesse Harris: “I Won’t Wait” (feat. Conor Oberst and Nick Zinner)

Even if you haven’t heard of Jesse Harris, you’ve probably heard (and loved) his work without even knowing it. The man behind Norah Jones’ “Don’t Know Why” has released 11 albums over the last couple of decades, the latest of which, Sub Rosa, features this collaboration with Creator Nick Zinner. “I Won’t Wait” also features Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes fame. The above video for this folky morsel was shot on an iPhone. Not bad for a single shot.

Bei Maejor: “Party At The Crib” (Diplo remix)

It’s becoming increasingly obvious that you’re not a hot young artist unless you’re working with Diplo (see Justin Bieber), so the fact that Diplo just produced a track for Detroit native Brandon Green aka Bei Maejor means that, in a sense, he’s made it. The song’s a little redundant, which is surprising considering Bei Maejor’s a Grammy-nominated artist who’s produced and written for artists like Drake, Monica, and Iggy Azalea, but the beat’s pretty satisfactory, so we’ll take it. We just hope “the crib” he’s referring to isn’t his parents’ house.
