Datamoshing Finally Gets Its Own Anthem (And It's Hilarious)

“You don’t have bad internet, I’m just datamoshing”

After our post on datamoshing on Wednesday, someone going by the name “Air” posted a link to this video in the comments. It’s so awesome we thought it warranted a post of its own. It opens with a shout out to David O’Reilly, an animator who often used the glitchy effect in his videos, and goes on to be a humorous anthem and ode to the pixel bleeding technique. The single is called “Datamosh” and is by Yung Jake and producer Max Barbaria. It has some of the nerdiest lyrics we’ve heard in a while with lines like “you thought it was an accident, a video glitch/ I did it on purpose though… it’s nothing/ you dont have bad internet, I’m just datamoshing” and “im doing me, making .gifs on the web.” And it’s hilarious.
