Electric Skeleton Photo Series Proves Light Painting Never Gets Old

New work by artist, Janne Parviainen, blows our mind without even touching Photoshop.

Sometimes, the coolest photo manipulations don't require any time clocked on Photoshop. Finnish artist, Janne Parviainen, has impressed the likes of National Geographic and racked up some serious Flickr love with his ebullient light paintings, which are all created through long hours, and even longer lens exposures.

Parviainen has been taking photographs for fifteen years, but stumbled across light painting by accident a few years ago when he kept his digital camera's long exposure modeon and noticed he could "write" with streetlights by moving the camera while it was exposing. His interest in the format blossomed when he discovered the Flickr group, Light Junkies. Now the artist "draws" electric skeletons in scenic environments throughout Scandinavia.

Though Parviainen hasn't had any print spreads, and is not currently represented by a gallery, his recent uploads to Flickr continue to prove that light painting never gets old. Check out some of his recent work below, and see more on his website, JannePaint.
