You've got paintings on your wall and GIFs in your online portfolio, but face it: With the exceptions being your Stan Brakhage DVD Box Set and the Cremaster Cycle clips you torrented, you don't own any video art. Let's fix that.

Daata Editions, which opens in T minus 30 minutes, is a platform for the online sale and research of digital, artist-commissioned video, sound, and web art editions. For today's official launch, which also includes a display at NADA, and partnerships with Salon 94 and Soho House New York, Daata Editions debuts six new works—each—from 18 artists, including Jon RafmanAmalia Ulman, Chloe Wise, and past Creator, Takeshi Murata. Above, you can get a taste of Murata's work, a series of 3D-animated gestural vignettes "of various combined TV, film and fairy tale archetypes," with sound by Robert Beatty. In the case of the above, you might want to duck.

The other characters in Murata's pieces include a "silently cynical" Popeye, as well as a Kabuki-meets-Disney witch. Explains Daata Editions, founder and director David Gryn created the platform as a remedy to the need for a space in which digital moving image and sound art could be collected in the digital realm, "a new business that commissions and empowers artists to develop new work, and creates a seamless and playful platform for collectors and viewers to access and experience this material." Each work is limited to an edition of 20, so you're best off creating an account on Daata Editions now, so you'll be able to access and purchase the videos as soon as the clock strikes 3:00 PM EST. Additionally, new subscribers will each receive a free, exclusively-commissioned artwork by Jon Rafman.

Check out screenshots from some of the other artists' works below. The complete list of artists for the launch are as follows: Ilit Azoulay, Helen Benigson, David Blandy, Matt Copson, Ed Fornieles, Leo Gabin, Daniel Keller & Martti Kalliala, Lina Lapelyte, Rachel Maclean, Florian Meisenberg, Takeshi Murata, Hannah Perry, Jon Rafman, Charles Richardson, Amalia Ulman, Stephen Vitiello, and Chloe Wise.
