We’re only too familiar with how amazing the Eyebeam workshops are, having teamed up with them for the first-ever art hackathon this past weekend. So it’s great to hear that Eyebeam are now heading to South Korea for the Eyebeam Roadshow. Organised by artist and upcoming Creator Taeyoon Choi, the project involves taking a group Eyebeam residents and fellows, as well as several Korean artists and activists, to various rivers in South Korea where they will meet the locals and conduct workshops to connect with the local creative community there.As well as exchanging knowledge—learning from the locals and gaining an understanding about the local environments—the roadshow will aim to create a blueprint to help empower the locals when fighting for their environment—allowing them to represent the concerns of the local communities, resisting further damage to the rivers and aiding in their preservation. Travelling from Seoul to Busan, they’ll be stopping by Naesungchun, Nakdong river and Geum gang and Gosam reservoir. Rumor has it, they may also be making a stop at our upcoming Creators Project event in Seoul.To help fund the project, they’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign, along with an accompanying book, a website designed by Aaron Meyers, and have their sights set on bringing the project to New York.
