Featured Work From The Gallery: Week 26
Our new online Gallery provides creative professionals a platform to showcase their portfolio of work, gain exposure, build their network, find collaborators, and become eligible for funding opportunities like The Studio. The Gallery also helps fans of cutting edge creative work to discover new artists and inspiring projects. Each week we’ll be selecting a few of our favorites and bringing you the best of what The Creators Project community has to offer. To have your work featured, submit your tech-powered projects to the Gallery.
Celi Lee: To Dream
The warm-toned, short animation To Dream by UK illustrator and designer Celi Lee is inspired by the beauty of the sea. We like it because it makes us wish the ocean was colorful, and that we were wearing a big blanket fashioned from the aura of those hypnotic, kaleidoscopic visuals. This may have been the best minute we spent all day.
Þorleifur Gunnar Gíslason: Reifier series
Þorleifur Gunnar Gíslason is a student at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, and we were confoundedly captivated by his Reifier series, which features photographic arrangements of perfectly ordinary office chairs, furniture, and other random objects collected (we presume) from around his school. The way he flips, repeats and patterns the individual photos within each larger piece is a refreshing study of symmetry and certainly turns these dull objects into something we’d like hanging in our office.
Caio TodoMundo: NOHTMLPLEASE
We’re fascinated by Brazilian videographer Caio TodoMundo‘s colorful, geometric abstractions. Even though the music in NOHTMLPLEASE starts off pretty abruptly, the patterns are so dynampic and well-orchestrated that we can’t seem to tear our eyes away. We only wish this was a video game.
