It's clear from both her work and her Twitter feed that illustrator Jeannie Phan loves cats. Along with flowers, desserts, and science, cats feature heavily in her often autobiographical drawings, and she's best known for her relaxing and subtle cat GIFs. The Canadian artist is also masterful in her illustrations of her important feelings about daily life. Many of her illustrations explore her relationship with her cat, Odin, and her meal portraits trounce any food porn account, whether she's twirling inside of a massive donut, showing off last night's pasta, or crouched under a gargantuan tomato plant. Phan also excels at illustrating female beauty in all body types. Clients like The New York Times, NPR, and The New Republic have recognized her ability to tell a story with simple, universal imagery, and she has gained awards of recognition from American Illustration, 3x3 (SSA), and the Society of Illustrators (SS). Her dreamy style is just the calming palette-cleanser we need to make peace with Monday.
