Five Robots Working In Synchronicity To Create A Glass Sculpture

This is how far SCI-Arc’s Robot House has come in just a few months.

Earlier this year, multidisciplinary design studio Kruysman-Proto and SCI-Arc, a center for innovation in California, presented their Robot House, a project centered around multiple robot arms that work in synchronicity toward a common goal. More recently, they demonstrated the progress of this mechanical team with a video showing them collaborating on a glass work of art, melting tubes and arranging them together in a cylindrical chandelier. If they can pull that off, it’s only a matter of time before they’re performing open heart surgery.

Though there are visibly people in the room controlling the situation using software, it’s incredible to see a team of robots performing such intricate work flawlessly. Surely, no human team of five could take on a creative project without some disagreement or argument, but these guys are a solid team, each doing their part to yield something awesome.

Below are a few snaps of the team in action.
