Future Of TV As Seen From 1980

It’s all about the Viewdata systems.

We’re loving this retro 1980 news report, Telefuture, which explores the future of TVs. We can safely mock its analogue clumsiness from our ergonomically slick times but how chilling, in the light of Google and Apple TV, that they talk about how TVs will become central display terminals, able to show pictures from various electronic sources. Trends come and go, but retro-futurism is here to stay. We’re just glad that that behemoth video disc machine is a thing of the past, just looking at it makes your back ache.
