Gorgeous Stop-Motion iPhone Film Shot Using Hipstamatic

Hipstamatic isn’t just for making you and your friends look like the cast of Dazed and Confused.

iPhone Cinema is the aptly-titled Vimeo channel dedicated to, well, you guessed it. Browsing, we found the above stop-motion from Vitùc entitled Yesterday. Shot entirely on Hipstamatic, the video features music from kaleidoscopic electronic producer Reid Willis.

Last year we listed a few of our favorite examples of mobile phone filmmaking and Vitùc’s video certainly adds to the growing pool with the expressive use of the app’s spot-focus. The result becomes a mildewy first-person narrative that almost reminds us of Lars von Trier’s Antichrist. The video comes on the heels of A Place to Bury Strangers’ equally impressive music video for “So Far Away” (below), released just two weeks prior.

While we continue to watch this evolving medium, and smartphones continue to grow ever more…smart, check out both tracks, and make sure to let us know in the comments below if you guys have any favorites we haven’t seen yet!
