Happy Birthday Zaha Hadid

The prolific architect turns 63 today.

On this special and spooky day, put down the trick or treat bags, glow sticks, and LED Pumpkins for a moment and celebrate the birth of Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid, one of the most influential architects of all time. This Iraqi-born British expatriat is best known for (among her many achievements) being the first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize (2004), also winning the Stirling Prize in 2010 and 2011. With a unique style focused on bold, curvaceous, and futuristic shapes, in the last few years hardly a week goes by without word of an ambitious new project from her design studio.
