Hypnotic Black And White Op-Art Music Visuals

Reza Ali makes op-art magic using the Audio Shader Toy he helped create at our Art Hack Weekend: San Francisco event.

Last weekend, The Creators Project headed to the West Coast for Art Hack Weekend: San Francisco, where creative coders flexed their artistic muscles to create web apps using HTML5 and WebGL. It was a productive time for all involved and, while they’re all winners in our eyes, the nature of competitions dictates that there must be actual winners, as chosen by a panel of judges.

And one of those victors was Reza Ali and his team mates Ryan Alexander and Gabriel Dunne, who made an audio shader toy in Web GL which allows you to drag an mp3 into Chrome and create audio-reactive visuals. Ali produced the attractive images below using the tool, which you can experiment with yourself over on the team’s GitHub page.

Thanks to all the developers who participated in what turned out to be a fantastic competition and if you’re in the San Francisco area, you can check out the winning projects at our upcoming San Francisco event March 17-18.
