Know Your Hashtag: #CharacterSelfies

2013 has been the selfie's time to shine. In addition to being named word of the year by Oxford Dictionaries, inspiring everyone from Dis Magazine to the Pope to raise their smartphones in approval--it's now getting its own tribute show.

With the hashtag #Characterselfies, animators, artists, and other graphically inclined creatives can now upload their own inventive designs for the chance to be part of annual conference and festival Pictoplasma's 10th anniversary edition--scheduled to take place April 30 - May 12 2014 in Berlin.

As part of an open call for entries,artists are encouraged to submit a self-portrait of their invented character, depicted taking a self-portrait with a camera or phone.

While you still have until March 1st to enter, the competition is looking pretty stiff so you might have to start upping your game now to win a slot.
