Lady Gaga Arrives To The Grammys In A Giant Hussein Chalayan Egg

The queen of shock and awe doesn’t disappoint, arriving in the most outlandish get up we’ve seen her in yet.

We’re pretty sure the only reason anyone watches award shows anymore is to see what Lady Gaga is wearing, and the provocative pop songstress certainly knows how to outdo herself every time. At last night’s Grammy Awards, Gaga arrived encased in a translucent teal egg that was carried down the red carpet and onto the stage by five half-naked attendees.

The egg was designed for the occasion by London-based fashion designer Hussein Chalayan, known for such experimental, high-tech couture as the video dress (below) he collaborated on with creator Mortiz Waldenmeyer.

Lady Gaga’s egg was conceptualized as a futuristic “womb” in which the outlandish diva was “incubating” until the hour of her Grammy performance, in which she sang her new single, “Born This Way.”
