Here’s the latest product from BERG, the design consultants who made that crazy light painting with an iPad video. It’s called Olinda, and it’s a prototype digital radio that has social network capabilities built in. The idea is that when a friend is listening to the radio, a button which you can press if you want to listen to the same station as them will light up. In addition to this function, the BERG has also learned a few lessons from the internet, most prominently its feature of an open interface that will allow for extra modules to be bought and attached or even made by the user or their friends. The idea is to allow you to customize and socialize your listening experience, bringing the varied experience we have on the web to consumer electronics.
