Ma Yansong Designs Stunning LED-Encrusted, Ring-Shaped Hotel
The world probably doesn’t need any more luxury hotels, but that’s not going to stop them being built. And, if you’re going to build them, you might as well do it in style like the new Sheraton Hotel in China called the Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort situated at Huzhou in the eastern Zhejiang province. It’s one of a planned 15 in total that the company plan to open over the next 12 months as China’s construction frenzy continues.
This one’s designed by celebrated Chinese architect Ma Yansong, from MAD Architects, and features his customary visual flair, with a horse-shoe shaped building rising 330ft from Lake Tai, creating an imposing but stunning structure. The huge building, covering an area of 75 acres, has layered floors with LEDs on the outside that light up at night and bounce of the lake below, displaying numerous patterns and colors.
