Mark Ronson On Tour [Photos]

Ronson curates a modern vaudeville-esque cast of performers.

Last night at Webster Hall in NYC Mark Ronson and the revolving door crew of the Business Intl. carried out an anticipated high-energy set. Notable moments included a cover of “California” by Phantom Planet, made relevant by lead singer Alex Greenwald, and Spank Rock’s rendition of “Shake it until my…” Mark switched it up halfway in with a short DJ set, and even serenaded the audience with “Record Collection.” Other flavors in the mix included the sultry Rose Elinor Dougall, Pill, and a brief appearance by a random guy the band picked up in Atlanta. As expected, MDMR and Q-Tip cranked out the crowd favorite, “Bang Bang Bang,” but “The Bike Song” wasn’t pulled out until the encore. Natasha Ambrosius sang the Amy Winehouse cover, “Valerie” to close out the night. Overall, we were impressed with Mark’s transition from producer/DJ to singer and collaborator, and the Business Intl. prove to be just the right complement.
