Electro-Luminated Wires Light Up This Australian Gallery

When we’re physically in spaces, we don’t tend to spend too much time thinking about them. But through creating geometric light sculptures, Meagan Streader’s site-specific installation W-inter frames the gallery area in a way that forces the audience to truly consider the space they occupy. The Australian artist used electro-luminated wire to light Brisbane's Metro Arts gallery space, creating large-scale but delicate shapes that emanate a stark glow in the dark gallery, whose windows have been blacked out for the exhibit. The work calls attention to the empty space by outlining it rather than filling it, making a W-inter a thought-provoking exploration of architecture and light art.
