Neon Indian Plays the Theremin

Alan Palomo electrifies our pop panel.

You play a theremin by moving your hands around it without touching it, manipulating the electric currents produced by the metal instrument, the manipulations of which are then amped and pumped out of speakers as sounds. Who better than Neon Indian to send shock waves through the audience at our pop panel during our NY launch event, and by controlling electricity with his fingertips no less. Check out the two videos of his theremin solo here, and stay tuned for interviews and performance footage from Neon Indian later this week. You can also read our previous blog about the pop song the theremin eventually ended up in, and the audience member who sang the hook.

And here’s a little extra theremin, in case you can’t get enough.
