Under the beaming, relentless Coachella sun, festival goers found respite in a silver-lined, four-story alien-like structure. The brainchild of director Jonathan Glazer and Spiritualized frontman J.Spaceman, the structure was A Physical Manifestation of Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating in Space a spacial remix, of sorts, of Spiritualized’s most famous track. With a progressive architectural design from Undisclosable and creative and technical realization from the One of Us team, the wildly ambitious installation became one of the crown jewels of our technologically-fueled presence at Coachella.Produced by The Studio, the installation fuses the sensory impact of light and sound into a transcendant musical experience through the use of highly advanced Duran-Audio Intellidisc directional speakers and light beams. Chaotic white noise composed of fragments of the Spiritualized track fill the dark, empty room. While standing inside one of the five pools of light streaming in through windows in the ceiling, visitors experience a moment of clarity, awash in a single component of the famous tune.Now, for the first time since its debut at Coachella, audiences will once again be able to experience this monumental work at our Creators Project NY event in DUMBO this weekend.
