Nearly one year ago, we detailed the making of Marilyn Myller, the new short film by BAFTA Award for Best Short Animated Film-winning director of The Eagleman Stag, Mikey Please. Back then, the London-based director and stop-motion animator teased about the film, "A longer synopsis might read— Marilyn is trying really hard to create something good. For once her expectation and reality are going to align. It will be epic. It will be tear-jerkingly profound. It will be perfect. Nothing can go wrong."Aside from the hangups the titular character experiences during the making of her own miniature sculptures, no hangups can be seen in the Sundance & SXSW selected final product: the finished short film, Marilyn Myller, is an awe-inspiring ode to the frustrations all artists face during their creative processes.
