An abstract, two-legged figure explores an exotic digital landscape filled with pixelated glitches and multi-colored globs in electronic music pioneer Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith’s new music video for “Riparian.” The video, which premieres today on The Creators Project, was animated and directed by Andrew Benson, a.k.a., Pixlpa, a visual artist known for his experimental videos and image distortion technology.

PixlPa sets a desolate psychedelic scene filled with, what appears to be, intentionally oversaturated imagery. But the artist sows charm amidst the chaos of his digital abstractions. During the course of his trek, our green-eyed protagonist comes in contact with various programmed impressions of animals, including birds and goats. Smith's ominous, celestial ballad provides the perfect sonic supplement for the animation. Pitchfork named her previous album, Sunergy, produced with Suzanne Ciani, one of its Best New Albums, and “Riparian” certainly lives up to the praise.

Smith recently played David Lynch's Festival of Disruption, along with St. Vincent, Robert Plant, Rhye, and Sky Ferreira. She also just kicked off a run of show dates in the EU. You can catch her in the following cities:

October 20 • Graz, Austria • Elevate at Dom Im Berg

October 22 • Manchester, UK • Warehouse Project w/ Four Tet, Floating Points

October 25 • Antwerp, Belgium • TRIX Centrum voor Muziek w/ Anna Meredith

October 26 • Paris, France • Pitchfork Avant-Garde Paris 2016

October 28 • Braga, Portugal SUN 30 • Semibreve Festival 2016 w/ Andy Stott, Nidia Minaj
