Follow the Light into This Projection-Mapped Industrial Chimney

Let interactive projections illuminate your path down this 30' long tunnel.

Years ago, the cyndrical housing that now hosts TRANSIENT BODY: An Interactive Art Installation was a chimney belching smoke from a hat manufacturing plant into the sky. Now, thanks to a collaboration between Sergio Mora-Diaz, Katia Montes, and the Factoria Italia project, the 30' long structure in Santiago, Chile has become a projection-mapped tunnel.

TRANSIENT BODY is performed beneath the site-specific curatorial space Proyecto Cilindro, and invites visitors to walk through the repurposed smokestack surrounded by a river of color, rather than clouds of ash. A sensor tracks the body as it pushes through the claustrophobic space, following occupants with personal patch of light laid over the larger, 30' long projection. "The result is a spatial experience, a perceptual exercise that relates our body in motion to the spatial qualities of the place," Mora-Diaz tells The Creators Project. "We are spectators, users and shapers of the experience."
