Real Estate Cruises Around Town At The Creators Project: Beijing 2012

During their downtime, the band explores the sights, food, and art of Beijing.

At The Creators Project: Beijing 2012, a blend of American and local Chinese musical acts graced the stage, and for Jackson, Martin, Alex, Matt, and Jonah of Ridgewood, New Jersey-based band Real Estate, it was an experience outside of the touring route they were used to. Exploring the neighborhood around UCCA, our event venue, the guys got to witness the amazing works scattered around Beijing’s 798 Art District, and got a chance to venture out and see the sights—the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and Tiananmen Square.

And when they took the stage, nothing but good vibes permeated the space, with the crowd dancing and generally wilding out to the sounds of Real Estate. The band was also amped to be playing a show alongside so much interactive artwork. Check out the video above to see Real Estate immersed in the culture of China.
