A few short lines transform everyday things into expressive little characters in the illustrations and animations of LA-based artist Sean Charmatz. He adds faces, arms, and legs to all sorts of inanimate objects, changing their interactions with humans and each other into moments of surprising drama. When he brings sweets to life, they look like the candy people from Adventure Time, in one case making a pretty good facsimile of Peppermint Butler. The Pendleton Ward aesthetic goes equally well with donuts and marshmallows as buildings, dumplings, bushes, and the sky. He cuts his videos into longer compilations on his YouTube Channel, which you can check out here.
