If the essence of a director could be captured in a single frame, it might look something like Julian Rentzsch's composite portraits of Alfred Hitchcock, David Lynch, and Martin Scorsese. The illustrator, who in the past drew Ai Weiwei and Jurgen Mayer H., among others, worked with independent Hamburg designers Stellavie to collage the three auteurs' classic characters, camera shots, and quotes together with their iconic faces, creating black-and-white snapshots of everything that made their films so great.Visit Stellavie for more prints, and check out more of Julian Rentzsch's work on his website.Via Visual NewsRelated:5 Oscar-Nominated Directors, One SupercutComposing Kurosawa: an Exploration of Movement in the Movies of a MasterIllustration Series Transforms Iconic Architecture Into Movie PostersSee Iconic Movie Posters Recreated As GIFs
