The Creators Project DUMBO: Weekend Highlights

We’re forgoing the RSVPs for Sunday, so come one come all down to DUMBO!

Life on Mars Revisited by David Bowie, Mick Rock and Barney Clay. Photo by James Medcraft.

Last night we saw amazing performances from Florence + the Machine, Company Flow, A$AP Rocky (and his crew of crowd-surfing Harlemites), John Maus and of course Justice’s body-thumping DJ set. Families, hip twenty-somethings, couples and residents all convened in the neighborhood to enjoy our interactive art installations and films, though the highlight of Saturday was definitely the musical performances.

Today, we’re screening films all afternoon and also holding panel discussions on the future of virtual reality at 1:30 PM and the artist as a researcher at 3 PM. Stop by Powerhouse to see films from Spike Jonze and Arcade Fire, surreal architectural animations from Factory Fifteen, Band of Horses’ new film On My Way Back Home, and of course The Art Of Flight, Curt Morgan and Brain Farm’s epic snowboarding documentary (and yes, a helicopter does drive into a mountain).

Jonathan Glazer and J. Spaceman with Undisclosable and One of Us’ immersive sound installation and UVA’s Origin will be open until 10 PM tonight, so come down and enjoy some free culture! Don’t forget to tag your Instagram photos with #creators.
