Here It Is, the Supermoon Timelapse You've Been Waiting For

Relive November’s Supermoon, thanks to filmmaker Mircea Goia.

I think we can all agree that 2016 was a doozie, but mother nature has funny way of consoling us. Last month we were blessed with the biggest/closest Supermoon since 1948, and thanks to people like Mircea Goia, we can relive this majestic natural phenomenon over and over again. Goia spent three days chasing November’s Supermoon through his hometown of Phoenix, taking photographs and filming timelapses as he went.

The web developer and filmmaker shot the moon using various zoom settings on his Sony RX10 III camera. He filmed in both 4K and HD but could only export the HD footage because is computer couldn’t handle the 4K definition. Goia pieced the film together using LRTimelapse software. After shooting, he processed the footage in Adobe Lightroom and ran it through a program called Red Giant Denoiser to help remove background noise. Watch the final cut below:
