The Twitter App That Sends Goodbye Poems to Your Unfollowers

Goodbye Unfollower: Adult Swim's new extension allows you to part with your haters in a polite and quite lyrical manner.

A new app lets you divorce from your lost Twitter followers with a beautiful poem: it's called Goodbye Unfollower, and it takes the form of a Twitter extension, developed for Adult Swim, by internet artists and digital creatives Tom Galle and Quanta Shimizu. Once you've connected it to your Twitter account, Goodbye Unfollower monitors your follower count and automatically generates and tweets out a unique poem every time you have a new dearly departed.

“None of the poems are offensive or aggressive, I rather see it as a way to troll your unfollowers in a fun way,” Galle tells The Creators Project. Apparently the Twitter community has been pretty receptive, “I actually saw some reactions from people that revived those poems and seemed pretty amused by it.”

Check out some more poems from, and reactions to, Goodbye Unfollower, below:

[Editor's note: Goodbye Unfollower is temporarily down, as Twitter has banned the app. We'll let you know when it's back online.]
