We're majorly excited for our friends and Creators, Karen O, K.K. Barrett, Spike Jonze, and the incredible success they're having this Oscar-season for Her. The film has garnered nominations for Best Picture and Best Screenplay, Jonze and Karen O. have a nomination for Best Original Song (Her's immersive, tender "The Moon Song"), Owen Pallet and Arcade Fire multi-instrumentalist William Butler are up for Best Original Score, and designer K.K. Barrett is in the running for Best Production Design. That's one impressive creative class.

The piece, which arose from the ashes of an unreleased album Karen O wrote seven years prior, premiered at the lofted St. Ann's Warehouse, as part of the Creators Project: New York mega-blowout we threw in 2011. Alongside performances from A$AP Rocky, Florence and The Machine, Four Tet, and a special guest appearance from Ju$tice, the songstress' operatic debut was hailed, "A beguiling and colourful spectacle and an intense epic vision with as many layers and ruffles as the runway-worthy costumes," by the AU Review, after its Sydney debut followed the eight original performances in Brooklyn's DUMBO neighborhood.We've got more than enough Virgens material to keep your brain occupied while you're waiting for Wolf of Wall Street to buffer.
