Tataouine, Tunisia has been a tourist attraction ever since it inspired Luke Skywalker's birthplace, the desert planet of Tatooine. With sand dunes and shapely homes that evoke the feeling of a galaxy far, far away, it's little wonder that StarWars.com suggests visiting "Real World Tatooine" in its Galactic Backpacking series. Less than a week after the tragic attack on tourists at the Bardo National Museum, however, the UK government is now advising against "all but essential travel" to the city.

According to CNN, Tataouine is now a "way-station for jihadists crossing the Libyan border 60 miles to the east." The nearby city of Tozeur, where Lucas shot Tatooine's original Mos Espa spaceport, is not on the list, but "two arms caches have also been found in the region this month, one of which included rocket-propelled grenade launchers and more than 20,000 rounds of ammunition." Keep abreast of your nation's travel advisories for details, and check out CNN here to read the full story.
