Turn Your Foursquare Check-In Data Into Jewelry

Meshu uses the path of your journey as the pattern for a pair of earrings.

So, Foursquare, a social networking site where you can check in at places on your phone and get awarded points. Which is all good fun, but it’s not a pair of earrings, is it? Now which would you prefer: notifying the internet of where you are? Or earrings? Foursquare? Or earrings? Can’t decide? Well, how about you have both.

Meshu, from Sha Hwang and Rachel Binx, creates jewelry from your travel path on Foursquare. Taking data from the places you’ve visited—say, your recent journey to get a sandwich and run some errands at lunctime, or something more inspiring like a fondly remembered trip abroad—meshu turns your checkin data into triangulated pieces of jewelry. These can be a necklace, earrings, or cufflinks, the pattern of which is generated from the lines that form the trajectory of your journey.

If you’re not a Foursquare fan then you can still turn places you’ve visited into geometric jewelry—click on a city or country you’ve visited and click on points on the map to build a mesh pattern.
