Virtually Paint A Masterpiece With Picturae 2.0, An Interactive Digital Canvas

This project from Taprik brings tangibility to digital painting,

These days, you don’t need a spray can and a neighbor’s wall if you want to do graffiti somewhere. You can do it digitally. That way, you avoid getting paint on your clothes and the anger of your neighbour. One way you could do that is with this project Picturae 2.0 from Taprik which is described as a " tangible way to paint digitally’.

Rather than just giving you the limited space of a tablet, this installation gives you a far greater canvas to work with using a projection screen, mixing techniques inspired by drawing, painting, printing, and graffiti.

The screen is the canvas and your brush is a virtual spray can which acts as both brush and multi-function mouse, allowing the user to change color and brush size, all done by interacting with the screen interface. You can also import images, stencils, and brushes, and integrate it with a tablet. It’s like an interactive paint board and canvas rolled into one.
