Visual Collective Plink Flojd Premieres At NOVA Festival

A series of audiovisual pieces premiering this week in Sao Paulo.

This hallucination you see above is just one of a series of visualizations to be exhibited at NOVA, a contemporary culture festival in Brazil. This exhibition will be the premiere of a new “super audiovisual” collective called Plink Flojd (pronounced the same way as the band), that brings together artists from all over the world for an ongoing collaborative video series.

David Quiles Guilló, a Spanish artist based in Sao Paulo, came up with the initial concept for the project along with co-founders Yoshi Sodeoka and Eric Mast AKA E*Rock. Don’t let the Pink Floyd reference fool you—this isn’t just another tribute project. Although the founders were originally inspired by they band, their goals is to take the homage to the next level by “making a new art form.” Some of the works show traces of influences of Pink Floyd, some show none. (But the real question is, what happens when you sync them up with The Wall?).

A. Bill Miller is the author behind the video above, but the project will also feature works from Akin, Lorna Mills, Rollin Leonard, Andrew Benson, Sabrina Ratté, and Jason Forrest.

If you happen to be in Sao Paulo, check out Plink Flojd's exhibition dates and times here. The festival will also be making the rounds to Rio de Janeiro and Barcelona later this spring.
