Artist Algorithmically-Orders Every Word In Star Wars From A To Z

"ARST ARSW" is an alphabetical ode to "A New Hope."

Remember, back in elementary school, when everything had to be sorted into alphabetical order? From single-file lines to Crayons by names of colors, these were certain, often frustrating orders that had to be maintained in order to make it out to recess on time. In middle school, when Microsoft Excel was introduced, I was at once delighted and disturbed to find that a few button-clicks could have made these sorting processes easier the whole time. These were low-level mathematical functions that required but a few keystrokes to complete. Computers, right?

Back then, it seemed to me only a matter of time before these algorithmic sorting practices could be made applicable to real life. While it's still a de facto digital process, YouTuber and Carnegie Mellon Computer Science Ph.D. suckerpinch (Tom Murphy VII) has taken the painstaking process of alphabetic ordering and applied it to one of the greatest cinematic experiences of all time.

ARST ARSW: Star Wars sorted alphabetically is suckerpinch's contribution to this such ordered-list lexicon. Breaking the film down word-by-word, by hand, and then running it through a custom algorithm, the resultant 3/4-hour video is an ode to both George Lucas' original space opera, A New Hope, and to the undeterrable dedication of the Star Wars purist:

In the "about" section of his newly-uploaded video, suckerpinch, a.k.a. Tom Murphy VII, offers some "Fun facts":

The word "lightsaber" only appears once in this film.
There are 43m5s of spoken English, 81m39s of other.
The most common word is "the," of course, said 368 times.
The word with most screen time is "you", at 52.56 seconds.
There are 1695 different words, and 11684 total words.
The longest words are "responsibility," "malfunctioning," "worshipfulness," and "identification," all 14 letters.
I labeled the words manually (!) using some software I wrote specifically for the purpose.
This is the Special Edition to troll Han-shot-first purists. Everyone knows the orig is the most legit.
